Bio
Sabrina Elaine Ionescu was born in Walnut Creek, California, to Romanian immigrant parents, and grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area, where she developed a relentless work ethic and a floor-general IQ that would redefine the point guard position. She attended Miramonte High School before becoming the greatest player in University of Oregon history (2016–2020), where she remains the only NCAA Division I player — male or female — to record 2,000 points, 1,000 assists, and 1,000 rebounds in a career. She won the Wooden Award, Naismith Trophy, and AP Player of the Year in 2020 after leading the Ducks to the Final Four. Selected #1 overall by the New York Liberty in the 2020 WNBA Draft, Ionescu's pro career was delayed by a severe ankle injury, but she returned to become a three-time WNBA All-Star and the fastest player in league history to record a triple-double (2022). In 2023, she shattered the WNBA single-season three-point record (128) and became the first player ever to join the exclusive 50/40/90 club (50% field goal, 40% three-point, 90% free throw).
