Melissa Viviane Jefferson, known professionally as Lizzo, is a Grammy Award-winning singer, rapper, songwriter, and flautist celebrated for her powerhouse vocals, infectious confidence, and genre-blending artistry. Born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised primarily in Houston, Texas, Lizzo developed a passion for music at an early age, studying classical flute while embracing gospel, hip-hop, R&B, soul, and pop influences.
