Angel Reese
Bio
Angel Reese grew up in Randallstown, Maryland, the daughter of former professional basketball and track athletes, and she honed her relentless rebounding and physical inside game at Saint Frances Academy in Baltimore, where she was a McDonald's All-American. She began her college career at the University of Maryland (2020–2022) before transferring to Louisiana State University (2022–2024), where she became a national phenomenon. In 2023, Reese led LSU to the program's first NCAA women's basketball championship, earning Most Outstanding Player honors after recording 15 points and 10 rebounds in the title game against Iowa. Her iconic "you can't see me" wave — directed at Caitlin Clark during the final seconds — sparked a defining rivalry that shattered television viewership records and elevated women's basketball to unprecedented mainstream attention. Reese set the NCAA single-season record for double-doubles (34) in 2022-23 and was named the SEC Player of the Year. Selected 7th overall by the Chicago Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft, she immediately made history by setting the WNBA single-season rebounding record and leading the league in offensive rebounds per game, earning WNBA All-Rookie Team honors. Beyond basketball, Reese has built a powerful NIL and endorsement portfolio with Reebok, Coach, and Amazon, launched her own podcast, and become a vocal advocate for Black female athletes' compensation and recognition. Known for her charismatic personality, bold fashion sense, and unapologetic confidence, she has redefined what it means to be a modern sports star: equal parts dominant competitor and cultural disruptor.
